In this interview, Mr. Shoemaker discusses his personal history and his experiences with the New York State food processing industry. Topics include: his education and training; the establishment of the Hygeia Refrigerating Company; the effect of changes in food processing on storage procedures; his participation in trade associations; his observations of the New York State Agricultural Businessmen's Council and the New York State Committee on Agriculture; his work in Washington, D.C. during World War II, and the establishment of a uniform commercial code for warehouses.
